Another lovely forecast this weekend
We will close out the workweek on a much sunnier note. In fact, wall-to-wall sunshine is expected for the day on Friday. It will also be a few degrees warmer, and a lot less windy. We’re looking at highs in the low to mid-40s in Lincoln, with winds transitioning out of the S/SW at 3-8 mph by late afternoon.
There will be no weather-related issues heading into this weekend either. Saturday will likely be the warmer day, with sunny skies and highs in the middle-50s. A wave of high clouds will be pushing through on Sunday, but we don’t expect any rain. Temperatures will also back off by a few degrees on Sunday as a weak front passes through.
Temperatures will warm back into the 50s on Monday before things turn a little bit more unsettled just in time for Valentine’s Day. Several versions of Stormcast are suggestive of a decent precipitation chance next week.
Rain will be possible on Valentine’s Day as a system slides to our southeast. Another system arrives on Wednesday which could produce a wintry mix, with perhaps a few snow showers lingering into Thursday morning.
If we end up seeing a healthy dose of precipitation, most of it would probably fall on Tuesday. Hopefully, we can see some sort of moisture to add to our already dry soils.
