Another rainy day 3/23/2021

Temperatures are still on the mild side this morning with most of southeast Nebraska sitting in the mid to upper 40s. Wind speeds are on the breezy side this morning with actual wind speeds near 20 mph. This means that it will feel a few degrees colder than the actual air temperature, so layer up. Don’t forget the rain gear either! Scattered showers and mist are pushing through the area and fog has developed. All of this moisture has reduced visibility, so use extra caution while driving. Highs will be a bit warmer today by the afternoon, with most of the area topping out in the mid to upper 50s. Scattered showers will persist into the afternoon and evening, with some of the far southeast counties seeing a few thunderstorms by the evening. They are expected to be severe on the Iowa side. The last of the showers push out of the area overnight tonight with a few possible early Wednesday morning. We briefly dry out before Friday with temperatures gradually increasing as well.
