Another round of strong storms later today 4/29/2022
Overnight thunderstorms resulted in over an inch of rain or more across portions of eastern Nebraska through this morning. This resulted in flooding to our north, and some spots this morning are still dealing with rain. We will see a brief break from the rain this afternoon, before round 2 of severe weather arrives this evening. Southeast Nebraska has been upgraded to a MODERATE RISK for severe weather this evening. Storms will begin to push eastward towards the Tri-Cities around 4 PM and eventually will arrive in Lincoln after 7 PM. All modes of severe weather are likely which means, strong winds, hail, tornadoes and flooding. Flooding is a major concern, considering we already have seen flooding from last night. Grounds are saturated for those that already saw rain, so more flooding is likely later today. Please have several ways to receive weather alerts this evening!
Lingering showers persist into the first half of your Saturday with cooler highs in the upper 50s and windy conditions. Temperatures eventually warm back to the mid-60s by Sunday with dry conditions. Several chances of rain are likely next week with highs remaining in the 60s.
