Arrest made in Merrick County related to sexual abuse child in Iowa

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Merrick County deputies served a warrant in Clarks, Neb., over the weekend connected to crimes that occurred in Benton County, Iowa.

Officials say Herbert G. Eddards was residing in Clarks when served and was arrested without incident.

The 44-year-old man is facing multiple charges, including sexual abuse of a child in the second degree, assault with intent to commit sexual abuse and lascivious acts.

Police say Eddards was already under investigation in Merrick County on an unrelated investigation.
