Attorney General Hilgers announces settlement with solar panel business for aggressive sales tactics

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Attorney General Mike Hilgers announced a recent settlement with Sunburn Construction, LLC, also known as Everlight Solar.

According to Hilgers, Everlight sold solar panels in Nebraska using misleading statements and aggressive sales tactics.

“Nebraska is a welcoming place for businesses and having a robust competitive market in all industries is critical,” Hilgers said. “However, a healthy marketplace cannot tolerate sales tactics to consumers that depend on making knowingly and intentionally false claims about the products being sold. We are pleased to resolve this suit and to protect Nebraskans from unlawful and intrusive sales techniques.”

Evergreen reportedly agreed to use clean sales practices and report to the Attorney General’s Office for three years. According to the settlement, they will also pay $200,000 to cover Nebraska’s investigative costs, attorney fees and related expenses.
