Authorities investigating stabbing at apartment complex in southwest Omaha

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an early morning stabbing at an apartment complex in southwest Omaha.
Just after 5 a.m., deputies were sent to the Bear Creek Apartments, located near the intersection of 144th and Harrison streets.
Authorities said a resident of the complex saw a disturbance between a male and a female in the parking lot.
After the male resident called 911, he verbally intervened, telling the two individuals to stop and that law enforcement was on the way.
Following that interaction, the sheriff’s office said the male in the parking lot entered the building and forced his way into the caller’s apartment.
A “physical altercation” ensued between the two males inside the apartment, according to authorities. A juvenile and a female were also inside the apartment.
During the altercation, the sheriff’s office said the caller stabbed the intruder with a knife while trying to get him out of the apartment.
The 911-caller remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities.
Authorities said the man who was stabbed was taken to a local hospital, where he remains in serious but stable condition.
The investigation remains ongoing.
