Beatrice Middle School student pointed fake gun at classmates, officials say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Beatrice Middle School was placed on lockdown Wednesday afternoon after a student pulled out a fake gun, officials say.
In a statement, Beatrice Public Schools Superintendent Jason Alexander said the school went into lockdown after the 2:12 p.m. dismissal.
Alexander said a student came back onto school grounds, wielding a fake pistol. The student then pointed the gun at their classmates.
The school was in lockdown for about 10 minutes while staff and police “took control of the situation,” according to the statement.
Beatrice Middle School will have crisis team members available for any students or staff, Alexander said.
