Bellevue man sentenced up to 80 years in prison for second-degree murder
BELLEVUE, Neb. (KLKN) — Oscar Salazar, 20, of Bellevue, was sentenced yesterday in Sarpy County District Court.
He was sentenced to 20-40 years in prison for one count of second-degree murder and an additional 20-40 years in prison for once count of unlawful/intentional discharge of a firearm.
In Jan. 2025, the Bellevue Police Department arrested Salazar for the shooting of Jaydon Palma, 21. The shooting resulted in the death of Palma.
Salazar was initially charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm to commit a felony, unlawful/intentional discharge of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a prohibited juvenile offender and stalking.
Salazar entered please in May of no contest to the two charges he was sentenced for.
Judge Nathan Cox ordered Salazar to serve each count consecutively. Salazar will serve a minimum of 21.5 years in prison before he will be eligible for parole.
