Big Red Rebuild Brings Reseating Changes

Season ticket holders will select seats for 2027 and again in 2028

Lincoln, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska football season ticket holders will go through two seat selection processes as construction on the Big Red Rebuild changes Memorial Stadium’s seating capacity and configuration.

Construction is set to reduce the stadium’s capacity during the 2027 season, impacting areas including the west sideline and south end zone. Because of those changes, every season ticket holder will have to select a seat again for 2027.

The order in which fans select their seats will be based on the Huskers Athletic Fund ranking system. Those rankings will lock on Feb. 11, with seat selection beginning in April.

Season ticket holders will then go through the process again for the 2028 season, when the renovated Memorial Stadium is expected to return to a capacity of about 80,000.

Ticket prices will also change as part of the new seating plan. Nebraska Athletic Director Troy Dannen said the university plans to offer tickets at different price points depending on seat location.

“We’ll have several thousand $299 season tickets. We’ll have several thousand $399 season tickets that will be on the market,” Dannen said. “So frankly, it may be less expensive for some people for their seats next year than it even was this year, but making sure that the accessibility that exists today doesn’t change.”

Nebraska Athletics has said 25% of seats in the renovated stadium will continue to require no annual donation, matching the percentage in Memorial Stadium today.
