Black Hills Energy announces new headquarters

Black Hills Energy announced it will have a new headquarters in Lincoln.

In a news release, the company said it will be relocating to 1731 Windhoek Drive, across the street from their current building which is near 16th and Old Cheney Road.

Construction will start in November and should be finished by early 2020.

“Lincoln is a growing, thriving community and we are proud to be part of its legacy of growth,” said Jeff Sylvester vice president of Nebraska natural gas operations for Black Hills Energy. “Owning a building allows us to better control costs and positions us well to continue to be committed to serving our customers in Lincoln and greater Nebraska.”

Black Hills is partnering with several businesses, including local businesses Sampson Construction and engineering firm Olsson to build and design the new facility.

The company has over 1.25 million customers across eight states, including Nebraska.

It’s current Lincoln headquarters serves as a hub for the natural gas operations leadership and other team members.
