Black ice caused vehicle to flip over east of Lincoln, rural fire department says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A driver was injured last week when their car rolled over into a ditch east of Lincoln, the Southeast Fire & Rescue Department said Monday.

Crews were sent to the crash, which happened near 112th and O Streets on Thursday.

The fire department said the vehicle slid on black ice, which caused it to roll into the ditch north of the road.

Air temperature, wind chill and a slick roadway were challenges for responding crews, according to the fire department.

The driver had injuries that were not life-threatening.
