Lincoln Police say a man is recovering from gunshot wounds


Lincoln Police Officers and Lincoln Fire and Rescue were sent to the area of 14th and E Streets on a report of a person that had been shot around 2:30 A.M. Sunday morning.  Police said a 30-year-old man was suffering from gunshot injuries.

Police said the male was transported to a local hospital and is currently undergoing treatment for his injuries. The investigation into the events leading up the shooting is continuing as Crime Scene Investigators and members of the Criminal Investigations team gather evidence and interview witnesses.

At this time, LPD said this appears to be a targeted assault and there does not appear to be an ongoing threat to the general public.

A witness told Channel 8 Eyewitness News the man who was shot was not a resident of his apartment complex.  The witness said the victim was found in front of the red Jeep picture above and he heard four gunshots.
