Mental health is a big part of your overall health.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — May is Mental Health Awareness Month. This past year came with more challenges than usual because of the pandemic, most of them being very stressful and overwhelming.
Director of Behavioral Health at Bryan Health, Dr. Dave Miers, says mental health is a big part of your overall health. Mental illnesses are real and they are treatable.
“Connectedness is really key,” Dr. Miers said. “The more connected individuals can become, the less likely it is to experience those symptoms.”
If you or someone you know is having trouble doing what they like to do every day, Dr. Miers says they should reach out to a family physician or a mental health professional.
