Bryan Health: National Depression Screening Day
Dr. Dave Miers said the faster you get help, the faster you start feeling better.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Bryan Health is seeing more people utilize their free online mental health screening. They’ve seen 4,000 completed in 2020, which is almost a 25% increase over last year.
Director of Behavioral Health at Bryan Health, Dr. Dave Miers, says part of this increase has to do with the pandemic and people being isolated. He also says the bigger part of that is the decrease in the stigma surrounding mental illness.
“Mental illness is treatable and we know depression is one of the most common mental illnesses that are out there,” Miers said.
Miers said the faster you get help, the faster you start feeling better.

Miers said you can expect to be asked questions about your sleep, appetite, etc. It will also ask you your symptoms between the day you take the test and the past 2 weeks.
