Calm & cool Thursday forecast 12/16/2021
We are off to a calm start this morning after a afternoon and evening yesterday. There were 8 tornado reports in NE and the Lincoln Airport saw a wind gust of 93 mph!
Wind speeds have significantly calmed down and are now around 5-15 mph this morning. While this is nothing compared to yesterday, it still is enough of a breeze to give us wind chill values in the teens this morning. Bundle up the kids before you send them off to the bus stop this morning! They will even want at least a jacket for later today, as high temperatures will only reach the mid to upper 40s today. This is technically above average for December, but it’s definitely not the 70s that we saw yesterday!
Temperatures drop into the upper 20s again overnight with partly cloudy skies and the weather just repeats itself for Friday. But a big temperature drop arrives Saturday! Highs will only warm into the upper 20s and low 30s, before warmer weather arrives on Sunday.
