38-year-old Lincoln man dies after Friday morning shooting, police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln Police are now searching for the gunman responsible for a deadly shooting early Friday morning.
Officers were called to the area near 20th and Washington Streets around 12:30 a.m. on a disturbance call.
Callers had reported hearing gunshots in the area, according to Police Chief Teresa Ewins. Police were also made aware of a possible crash nearby.
When officers arrived, they found a crashed Jeep and a 38-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds.
First responders immediately rendered aid, but the man was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Ewins said police are withholding the name of the victim until his family has been notified.
There is no threat to the public at this time, Ewins said, but no one has been arrested.
The investigation is in its early stages, according to Ewins. Anyone with information should call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
Police are specifically looking for video of the victim’s vehicle, a white Jeep Patriot, Ewins said.
