Car smashes into Lincoln eyeglass store, causes $75,000 in damage, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A driver was cited Monday night after they crashed into a Lincoln eyeglass store, police say.

Around 10:30 p.m., officers were sent to the intersection of 56th and O Streets on a report of a three-vehicle crash.

Police say a Nissan Maxima ran a red light on O Street and struck a southbound GMC Acadia in the intersection.

The Nissan then went across the intersection, struck a third vehicle and drove off the roadway into Eyeglass World.

Police estimate the crash caused about $75,000 in damage to the store.

The driver of the Nissan was cited on suspicion of violating the traffic signal, according to police.

Two drivers were taken to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
