LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – CASA presented two Neighborhood Mobile Music Concerts on Saturday. Both concerts featured the Root Marm Chicken Farm Jug Band. The concert took place in Village Gardens and Wilderness Hills.

“It’s an opportunity for people to get out, hear some music, learn a little bit about CASA,” executive director Dawn Rockey said. “I just thought that be kind of a good way to cap off the fall.”

In addition to hearing some great music, attendees learned about CASA’s work with abused and neglected children in Lancaster County Juvenile Court, and had the opportunity to financially support CASA.

The non-profit recruits, trains and supports community volunteers who advocate for the best interests of abused, neglected, truant and ungovernable children and youth in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems.

“Just having the opportunity to acquaint more people with what CASA is, and what we do is a tremendous opportunity,” Rockey said.

Rockey said she hopes to have more mobile music concerts in the future.
