Cass County deputy recognized with Lifesaving Award

CASS COUNTY, Neb. (KLKN) — A Cass County officer was recognized for saving someone’s life. He received the Lifesaving Award.
Deputy Easton Hanson responded to a call in Plattsmouth on May 11, 2026. The call reported an unresponsive individual in crisis.
According to Cass County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), Hanson and a Plattsmouth police officer, Oscar Loya, both starting giving aid to the individual. This included CPR and Narcan.
Their quick response directly lead to saving the life of that individual.
CCSO said they are “extremely proud to recognize Deputy Hanson for his calm response, training and commitment to protecting life.”
