CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Burglar uses stolen truck to break into smoke shop

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A local smoke shop suffers a $30,000 loss after a stolen truck crashes into it so that the driver can store items.

The incident occurred on Oct. 27, just after 8 a.m. at D & K Smoke Shop, 2441 N 48th St.

The stolen truck can be seen on security footage attempting to back into the storefront multiple times in order to gain entrance. Once inside, the suspect made off with about $25 worth of tobacco products.

The red truck was found damaged and abandoned down the street. The vehicle, a red Chevy S-10, was reported stolen from a worksite, near N 14th and “W” Streets about a half-hour earlier.

The Chevy was left running and stills from security footage caught two suspects walking into the parking lot prior to the theft.

The investigation into these suspects is still ongoing.
