Central City teen killed when truck hits ditch, rolls over in Merrick County

Fatal Crash 1

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — An 18-year-old was killed Sunday night when his truck came off the road on Highway 30.

The Merrick County Sheriff’s Office says first responders were called to Highway 30 between 20th and 21st Roads on a report of a single-vehicle crash.

A 2007 Chevy Colorado pickup was headed east on the highway when it left the road, hit the ditch and rolled multiple times.

The driver and lone occupant, 18-year-old Brice Gravert of Central City, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies say Gravert was not wearing a seat belt. Authorities do not think alcohol, drugs and speed were factors in the crash.
