Chase through Lincoln reaches over 100 mph after hit-and-run crash, troopers say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska State Patrol says a man was arrested after a dangerous chase, in which speeds reached more than 100 mph.
This all started a little after 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The patrol said a trooper saw what appeared to be a crash on 27th Street near Interstate 80.
The trooper says 62-year-old Donald Roth hopped back in his vehicle during the investigation and sped off.
The patrol said the chase went through a field near Mill Road and 40th Street before another collision occurred, with two vehicles hitting agriculture equipment.
The Lincoln man was taken into custody from there, and he was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital.
Roth has since been booked into the Lancaster County Jail.
His lengthy list of charges includes driving under a 15-year license revocation, willful reckless driving, flight to avoid arrest, leaving the scene of an accident and criminal mischief.
