Child among 6 new community spread COVID-19 cases reported in Lincoln

Officials on Thursday afternoon announced six additional COVID-19 cases in Lincoln.

All six cases are community spread, which makes 27 of the city’s 45 total cases community spread.

One of the new cases is a child under the age of 19 (the second such case in Lincoln).  The others are women ranging in age from their 30s to their 60s.

Lancaster County has had 1,287 negative cases and has 18 cases still pending. Officials are monitoring 104 people due to their travel history or possible exposure.

More than 570 cases have been reported in Nebraska, as well as 14 deaths. Lincoln’s only death was reported Wednesday and was a man in his 50s who was hospitalized and had underlying health conditions.
