Chilly Start to the Weekend, Warmer by Sunday
We will get off to a chilly start to the weekend with highs recovering to the upper 60s by Saturday afternoon. Warmer and windy on Sunday as highs return to the 70s.
Low temperatures will approach the freezing point early Saturday morning, most of the state will be under a Frost Advisory or Freeze Warning through Saturday morning. If you have any outdoor plans that are sensitive to the cold, it is best to get those covered up or move them inside.
A colder airmass from the north remains over the region for the start of the weekend. Low temperatures will range from the upper 20s to mid-30s across the state.
Temperatures in Lincoln will be in the 40s and 50s before dropping to the 30s by early Saturday morning. It is best to have the jacket handy for any Friday night plans.
After a chilly start, temperatures are expceted to warm up nicely for Saturday afternoon! Winds will shift out of the west during the afternoon, which could help bring in warmer temperatures from the west.
Our forecast high in Lincoln is expceted to reach the upper 60s. Should we get to the lower 70s, Saturday has the potential to be a top 10 day!
Temperatures continue to climb through the weekend and into the start of next week. Highs will top out in the lower 80s on Monday ahead of chances for showers and possibly a thunderstorm through the first half of the week. After a brief cool down, sunshine and warmer weather returns through Mother’s Day weekend.
