LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Christian Heritage is giving foster children and families in a need a Holiday surprise this year.

“With everything going on and the pandemic this year, we felt like we needed to do something different,” engagement supervisor Brian Berrier said. “We wanted to celebrate children and the families that we work with.”

Thousands of Christmas lights, a nativity scene,  Santa, Mrs. Clause and a Chick-fil-A food truck will be available to the public.

Families in need will also receive gifts, including foster children.

“We also have over 300 gifts that have been donated. We just really want to make the children feel special this holiday season,” Berrier said.

Over 5o volunteers started setting up for the event on Saturday. Light the Night will be open to the public on Dec. 12 from 8-10 p.m. You can drive around and look at the lights, Mr. and Mrs. Clause and the nativity seen. Christian Heritage’s campus is located at 14880 Old Cheney Road. For more information on the event, or ways to donate you can visit Light the Night’s Facebook page event.
