City Council Approves Permit For Apartment Complex In Northeast Neighborhood

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) –After over a month of back and forth, the city has given their final word on hundreds of apartments going up. Neighbors near the area of “O” and N 105th streets, near Southeast Community College, were in opposition of an apartment complex that would allow over 400 apartments to be built behind their homes.

They say they were promised no complex would go in their neighborhood, but council members gave builders the go ahead during Monday night’s meeting.
Builders said their goal was to bring more housing to the Lincoln area and they were in their right to do so. Neighbors say even with the permit being passed by the council, they still plan to take action against it.
