City of Lincoln prepares for major winter storm Monday
A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for a large portion of southeast Nebraska.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – All arterial, bus and school routes have been treated ahead of Monday’s winter storm system, according to Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU).
“All of our available resources at the ready and on standby,” Tim Byrne with LTU said.
Officials say the streets that have been treated are wet with normal driving conditions. Non-treated streets are snow-packed and drivers should remain alert for slick spots.
“We have a certain amount of residual salt and icing material on the road way, so that effectively is going to act like a pretreatment for the system that’s going to move in early tomorrow (Monday) morning,” Byrne said.
A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for a large portion of southeast Nebraska. The warning will be in effect from 6 a.m. Monday till 3 a.m. Tuesday. Stay home if you can, travel is not advised.
