Weather Headlines:

Cloud cover will move in by the start of the work week in southeast Nebraska, before daily chances for showers enter the forecast. Forecast highs are just shy of our typical values for late September.

Patchy areas of dense fog could develop again on Monday morning. Visibility could be reduced to a half mile or less for the morning commute before burning off before the lunch hour.

StormCast remains quiet for the Monday morning commute, though expect activity on the radar to increase around dinnertime to our west. Precipitation chances move east, heading through the day on Tuesday.

The Weather Prediction Center has most of the state under a Slight Risk (Level 2 out of 5) of excessive rainfall starting on Tuesday, September 29. Portions of southeast Nebraska could see another wave of impressive rainfall totals through the next seven days.

Forecast:

Temperatures will drop back down to the 50s and 60s statewide by Monday morning. Cloud cover will increase across the state through the overnight.

A calm evening heading into the work week in Lincoln as temperatures fall to the lower 60s. A light breeze and high humidity will create favorable conditions for fog.

With cloud cover expected to be a little more stubborn on Monday, high temperatures will be a couple of degrees cooler across the state.

Winds return out of the southeast by Monday afternoon in the Capital City. Temperatures will try for the lower 70s under overcast skies.

Temperatures continue to take a hit on Tuesday with the chance for widespread showers and a few thunderstorms. Some may not see their temperatures make it out of the 60s.

Temperatures will cool off as rain chances continue into the start of October. We finally look to dry out heading into next weekend, with highs slightly below average through the first full week of the month.
