Cooler Sunday before a chilly start to next week

With southerly winds to start the day on Saturday, high temperatures reached the upper 70s for one of the warmest days going forward. We’ll begin to cool off the rest of the weekend following a weak cold front and wind shift out of the northwest. Saturday evening will be partly cloudy with milder low temperatures in the upper 30s and low 40s.

A milder evening will help temperatures climb into the lower 60s for Sunday, but much cooler than Saturday. Winds will make it feel colder as well throughout the day to finish the weekend out.

Dma Tomorrow High

Breezy conditions will continue through Sunday, similar to what the day saw on Saturday. Gusts will be anywhere from 20 to 30 miles per hour again out of the northwest.

Jess Model Wind

With low temperatures continuing to drop to likely give us a hard freeze Monday evening into Tuesday morning, we will also have the chance to break the record low temperature on that day. Right now, the lowest temperature recorded on Tuesday, October 18th is 21°. Some southern Nebraska counties are currently under a Freeze Watch for Sunday into Monday morning, and more watches/warnings are likely to expand eastward Monday evening into Tuesday morning.

Jess Frost Territory

Rain chances are hard to come by at the moment, with the only chance to see any precipitation in the near future not showing up until next Sunday evening. For now, we will stay dry and cooler to start the week before we warm back into the 70s by the end of the work week.
