Coronavirus recoveries plateau, new cases continue to rise
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Tuesday, Lancaster County announced 76 new coronavirus cases, bringing the community total to 5,850.
Unfortunately, yesterday the community saw another COVID-19 death, bringing the county’s total to 24.
The number of patients who have recovered from the virus remains the same, at 2,216.
The positivity rate for Lancaster County remains at 8.1 percent. Nebraska’s positivity rate also remains at 9.7 percent.
A total of 47 people have been hospitalized with COVID-19 in Lancaster County (17 of them county residents). Two of the patients were on ventilators.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, shortness of breath, repeated shaking with chills, repeated muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell.
Testing is now open to all Lancaster County residents.
