County COVID death total hits 45, two more losses reported

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department (LLCHD) reports two more coronavirus deaths, bringing the community total to 45.

The individuals were women, one in her 30’s with underlying health conditions who had been hospitalized and the other in her 90’s who was at a long-term care facility.

Ninety new cases of COVID-19 were also announced, the community total now 9,162.

Reported recoveries have also increased from 3,964 to 4,024.

The overall positivity rate for Lancaster County remains at 9.1%. While the state’s positivity rate is up from 11.3% to 11.5%.

Currently, 62 patients are hospitalized due to the coronavirus, 36 of which are from Lancaster County (5 on ventilators).

Common symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, shortness of breath, repeated shaking with chills, repeated muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell.
