Crash sets vehicle ablaze in southwest Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A two-vehicle crash in southwest Lincoln on Tuesday caused one of the vehicles to catch fire, officials said.

The cars collided on 14th Street south of Old Cheney Road just before 8 p.m.

One person was initially trapped in one of the vehicles, according to Lincoln Fire & Rescue, but was able to get out before the fire started.

That person was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Firefighters could see the flames blocks away, but they managed to put them out in less than three minutes, LFR said.

The fire destroyed the vehicle.
