One man is dead following after reportedly fleeing from officers in Grand Island.

Shortly after midnight, the Nebraska State Patrol said officers saw a motorcyclist driving at around 80 miles per hour on South Locust Street – a 50 mile per hour zone. Troopers attempted to stop the driver who tried to flee the scene, the patrol said.

Troopers began pursuing the driver, who fled at speeds over 100 miles per hour for approximately five minutes before ultimately crashing into another vehicle at the intersection of Highway 281 and West Old Potash Highway, the patrol said.
