Fire causes $175,000 in damage to northwest Lincoln home, LFR says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln Fire & Rescue says a fire at a northwest Lincoln home on Thursday caused around $175,000 in damage.

Firefighters put out the blaze near Northwest Fourth Street and West Belmont Avenue after being called to the area around 9:30 p.m.

Neighbors reported the fire, according to LFR Battalion Chief Jim Bopp.

Cews could see flames from Interstate 180 as they approached.

When firefighters arrived, they found “some pretty heavy fire” on the back side of the house, Bopp said.

Four people were inside when the fire started, but they made it out safely, LFR said.
