Darline Graham sworn in to finish her late brothers’ term

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Darline Graham, the late Sen. Lindsey Graham’s sister, was sworn in yesterday afternoon, three days after her brother died. She is now the interim Senator of South Carolina.

Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley administered the oath while Graham’s husband held the Bible.

Graham will remain in the Senate until Jan. 2027, fulfilling the rest of her brother’s term.

She is the first female to represent South Carolina in the senate and has not held any elected office.

A fast-tracked special primary election will be held on Aug. 11 to replace Lindsey Graham on the ballot.
