Deadliest year for pedestrians on Nebraska roadways since 91′

This is the deadliest year for pedestrians on Nebraska roadways since 1991, according to the Nebraska Dept. of Roads.

So far this year 21 people have been killed on state roads.

From 2000 to 2017 an average of 11 people were killed on Nebraska roads each year.

AAA says drivers need to keep eye out for people, while those on the streets should consider wearing bright clothing and limit distractions.

The NDOT Highway Safety Office reports that this is the most pedestrian fatalities since 1991 when 24 were tragically killed in Nebraska.
