DHHS releases reminder for Nebraskans, ‘masks matter’

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — As of Friday, Nebraska’s total coronavirus cases were 29,988, up 1,884 from last Friday. Sixteen new COVID-19-related deaths were reported, bringing the total to 361. Over 22,000 Nebraskans diagnosed with the virus have since recovered.

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) released a statement reminding Nebraskans that ‘masks matter in controlling the virus’. In addition to wearing masks, other preventative actions to take are:

  1. Social distance
  2. Wash your hands
  3. Know your risk
  4. Stay home
  5. Get tested

Phase 3 Directed Health Measure (DHM) restrictions continue through Aug. 31 for 66 counties, with 27 counties in Phase 4.
