Possible disciplinary action taken against Lincoln massage therapist
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln massage therapist is under possible disciplinary action from Nebraska Attorney General Mike Hilgers.
In a settlement with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Victor Zweerink’s license was suspended for two years. He had also been ordered to pay the highest civil penalty allowed by law, $20,000.
Zweerink would need DHHS approval along with full payment and penalty in order to reinstate his license.
The petition for disciplinary action that Hilger filed alleged that Zweerink ‘engaged in conduct that violated professional standards, including misconduct toward multiple clients, failure to maintain appropriate boundaries and failure to report his termination as required’. The petition also alleged that Zweerink’s conduct ‘constituted immoral or dishonorable conduct, sexual abuse or misconduct and gross incompetence or negligence’ which, under Nebraska law, is justification for disciplinary measures.
According to the DHHS settlement, Zweerink admitted to the allegations alleged in the petition.
