Doordash to deliver COVID test kits

(CNN) — Food delivery services have skyrocketed in popularity since the pandemic. But now one delivery service, in particular, is expanding to deliver COVID tests.

Doordash announced Monday that it will begin same-day deliveries of two COVID-19 PCR tests across the U.S.

The delivery service teamed up with digital health companies Vault Health and Everlywell for this project. Everlywell’s test kit uses a nasal swab while Vault Health’s uses supervised saliva collection.

Both kits have been authorized for emergency use by the FDA.

Doordash says the tests will first be available in a dozen cities before expanding to more locations in the coming months.
