Drive-thru Christmas celebration brings joy to Lincoln

The event was held on Dec. 4.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – With the holidays just around the corner, people are trying to find ways to safely spread Christmas cheer.

A drive-thru Christmas celebration was held on Dec 4. at CHI Health Nebraska Heart. 4. The celebration was called Miracle on 91st Street.

Hundreds of people lined up to see Christmas displays, a live nativity scene, carolers and even Santa. Children also received goodie bags to take home.

“It’s been a challenging two years and that’s been said before,” said J Hoffman, a physician liaison at CHI Health. “So we wanted to give people an opportunity to get out of the house, stay safe, enjoy the holiday, enjoy with family. Just a chance to take breath and enjoy a good time.”

The event used to be held inside CHI Health St. Elizabeth but was change to a drive-true family event last year due to COVID-19 concerns.

People who attended the event said that it was an experience they will never forget and can not wait to come back again next year.
