Driver blew red light and had open booze before crash, Lincoln Police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A 33-year-old woman was cited after Thursday morning’s head-on crash, which tied up Highway 77 for hours.

The Lincoln Police Department says she violated a red light before colliding with a pickup truck at Warlick Boulevard.

LPD also revealed that the woman had a 9-year-old passenger in her Jeep, along with an open alcohol container.

Police said she wasn’t impaired at the time of the wreck.  Both her and the child were taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The truck’s driver had minor injuries that didn’t require further medical treatment.
