Dry start to today, but storms arrive this afternoon 7/6/2021

Your Tuesday is off to a lovely start as temperatures are sitting in the 60s and 70s with mostly sunny skies. Clouds will increase as we head into the afternoon thanks to a cold front. This front will likely result in thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening. Far southeast Nebraska will likely see these thunderstorms during the evening and late evening hours. Some of these storms could be on the strong to severe side, but widespread severe weather is not expected. These storms will continue overnight into early Wednesday morning. High temperatures will top out in the low 90s today and then we cool down to the 80s through Thursday. The 90s briefly return for Friday and then we cool right back below average into next week. Friday appears to be our next best chance for rain.

  • TODAY: Temperatures soar into the low 90s across southeast NE with increasing clouds throughout the day. T’storms fire up in central NE around 2PM and push eastward into the area around the late evening hours. HIGH: 92
  • WEDNESDAY: Well below average high temperatures in the low 80s with the chance for leftover showers in the morning. HIGH: 83
  • THURSDAY: A bit warmer, but still below average in the upper 80s. HIGH: 88
  • FRIDAY: Highs are back in the low to mid-90s with triple digits heat index values. T’storms are likely throughout the day. HIGH: 94
  • SATURDAY: Back below average in the low to mid-80s. HIGH: 84
