Economic recovery town halls to be held across Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska Department of Economic Development will be holding a series of town halls across the state.

The town halls will discuss the Economic Recovery Act, its programs and the needs across the state.

Under the act, the Legislature would appropriate $450 million in federal funds under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.  Grants will provide funding to public and private entities that were negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In July, the department received $723 million in American Rescue Plan Act funding to strengthen the economy.

Multiple programs and grants were designed to allocate funding to communities in need.

The town halls will be held at the following locations:

Lincoln

  • Wednesday, Nov. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
  • Lincoln Community Foundation: 215 Centennial Mall S. #100, Lincoln, NE

Beatrice

  • Wednesday, Nov. 2, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Southeast Community College: Academic Excellence Center #134 – 4771 West Scott Road, Beatrice, NE

Fairbury

  • Wednesday, Nov. 2, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Burkley Family Center at Hartland Bank: 509 “E” Street, Fairbury, NE

Hastings

  • Wednesday, Nov. 2, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Kearney
