Elderly woman, 2 police officers hospitalized after Kearney house fire

Authorities say an elderly woman and two police officers were hospitalized after a house fire in Kearney.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Authorities say an elderly woman and two police officers were hospitalized after a house fire in Kearney.

The fire broke out around 10 a.m. Thursday at a south Kearney home.

When police officers arrived, the home was fully engulfed.

Fire fighters found a woman in her 70s inside the home.

The woman was taken to CHI Good Samaritan Hospital to be treated for potentially life threatening injuries, officials said.

The two police officers were treated for smoke inhalation.

This fire scene is being investigated by the Kearney Volunteer Fire Department and the Nebraska State Fire Marshal’s Office.
