END OF WATCH: Dispatch holds a moment of silence for Herrera

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Wednesday afternoon, two days after his passing, dispatch sends out an end of watch call for Investigator Mario Herrera.

Inv. Herrera was shot in the line of duty Wednesday, Aug. 26 when serving a warrant to 17-year-old Felipe Vazquez. Following a 12-day battle, he succumbed to his injuries on Monday, Sept. 7. He is survived by his wife and four children.
