Feeling like a typical December day today 12/20/2021

The work week is off the a chilly start this morning, as temperatures are currently in the 30s. Wind chill values are making it feel like the teens for most of southeast NE, so grab those winter layers. You will even want you heavy layers for this afternoon, as highs will be near average for a December day. A morning cold front will switch our winds back out of the northwest for the afternoon and evening. This will bring in cooler air for the day and will result in the mid to upper 30s for high temperatures. Don’t worry though! Warmer weather returns tomorrow and will stick around into Christmas day. Highs will gradually warm into the 40s, 50s and maybe even the 60s by the end of the week. On top of the warmer temperatures, southern NE also on on track for a pretty dry forecast this week. As of this morning, we currently aren’t expecting one chance for rain or snow. So it looks like Santa will have easy travel conditions on Christmas Eve!
