Fiance of slain Lincoln mother Jessica Brandon sentenced to prison
The fiance of a Lincoln mother who was shot and killed during a drug-related home invasion last year has been sentenced to prison.
Judge Jodi Nelson sentenced Michael Robertson, who authorities say was the fiance of Jessica Brandon, to 16-to-21 years in prison on drug and abuse charges, according to court documents.
Authorities said they believe Robertson was selling marijuana, and hid a large bag of drug money at the home the night officers arrived and found Brandon dead. Authorities said at least three of the suspects in Brandon’s killing were likely looking for the money when Brandon was shot.
Those suspects, Tawhyne Patterson, Damon Williams and Dante Williams, along with two others connected to the crime – Ira Morrow and William Boothe – are facing federal charges.
