Five injured following two-vehicle crash in east Lincoln, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Police Department said five people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in east Lincoln on Friday.

Just before 10:45 a.m., several first responders were sent to the intersection of 48th and R streets.

LPD said five people were injured — two with minor injuries, two with serious but non-life-threatening injuries and one with life-threatening injuries.

Police said that the person with life-threatening injuries was taken to the hospital and is stable at this time.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Police closed northbound 48th Street and westbound R Street while crews worked to clean up the crash.
