Flags in Nebraska to fly at half-staff after Virginia congressman’s death

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Gov. Pete Ricketts announced Tuesday that flags are to be flown at half-staff in remembrance of a fallen congressman.

The order comes at the request of the White House to honor the late Rep. Donald McEachin, a Democrat from Virginia.

McEachin had fought colon cancer for nearly a decade. On Monday, he succumbed to the illness at age 61.

McEachin earned a fourth term just weeks before his death.
