Flights delayed and cancelled due to bad weather across the Midwest

Flights to Chicago were the most affected

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A major winter storm-battered parts of the Midwest causing headaches for many travelers on Wednesday.

In Chicago, they already received between 5-10 inches of snow with possibly more coming later tonight and into Thursday.

Flights in and out of Chicago’s airports have been delayed and canceled all day. In Lincoln, travelers were scheduled to leave for Chicago at 1 p.m. but that flight didn’t end up taking off until 6:30 p.m.

Passengers at LNK had to decide if they wanted to wait for the flight or cancel their trip. Shelia Othman decided it was best to cancel because she would’ve missed a connecting flight out of Chicago.

“I’m disappointed, my friends are disappointed. We’re all meeting up on the east coast, but we’ll see what happens. I’m going to try Omaha, if I can get out of Omaha at a decent time and decent flights, I’ll go ahead with that,” said Othman.

Unfortunately for Othman, Omaha wasn’t much better. The only flight to Chicago after 4 p.m. was canceled and there wouldn’t be another flight until 5:30 in the morning the next day.
